The daily rhythm of a Muslim's life changes significantly during Ramadan, structured around the fast and communal worship. The day typically begins before dawn with a pre-fast meal called Suhoor. This meal is meant to provide energy for the long day of fasting ahead and is considered a blessed practice.

After the Fajr prayer at dawn, the fast begins. The day is spent in usual activities, but with an increased focus on worship, such as reading the Quran, engaging in remembrance of God (dhikr), and performing acts of kindness.

The breaking of the fast at sunset, known as Iftar, is a joyous occasion. It is traditional to break the fast with dates and water, following the practice of the Prophet Muhammad. Iftar is often a communal affair, with families, friends, and communities gathering to share a meal. Mosques frequently host free Iftar meals for the entire community, fostering a strong sense of unity and solidarity. Following the evening prayer (Isha), many Muslims perform special nightly prayers called Tarawih, where long portions of the Quran are recited.
